This promotional book was a companion to the multi-year, award winning Battlegrounds TV series and retail campaign. Nike Battlegrounds was originally conceived to improve revenue and interest in the basketball market during the NBA off-season. The TV series pitted players against each other in winner-take-all streetball battles in tournaments held across the United States and Europe.
Raw material for the Nike Battlegrounds book was a collection of existing Nike assets and documentary footage I’d directed across many cities during the show and tournaments. To ensure the book felt cohesive, I retouched and regraded all the imagery as well as creating two custom typefaces.
Printed as a limited edition, the Nike Battlegrounds book is now a collector’s item.
